Welcome to Belize! Bienvenidos a Belice!
Reef and rainforests… Maya and Garifuna...Punta and Marimba… Peaceful and Unique
Majestic Mayan temples, pristine rainforests, sandy white beaches, peaceful and unique is just a part of what is Belize, where a wide species of marine wildlife call the Belizean Barrier Reef, the second largest barrier reef in the world, home.
Just a two to three hour flight from the US and a beautiful day’s drive from Guatemala, Belize is the trade crossroad where Central America meets the Caribbean and is a melting pot of ethnic groups, cultures and languages. The Garifuna, Maya, Mestizo, Creole, Mennonite and East Indian are some of the most predominant cultural groups that have worked together to build this little haven called Belize…a vacationer’s paradise.
Belize is a country of 8,867 square miles, rich with British Colonial history layered with the majestic Maya Civilization whose descendents still reside here. It lies on the eastern coast of Central America and the warm waters of the Caribbean Sea. Bordered on the north and part of the west by Mexico, and on the south and the remainder of the west by Guatemala. English is the language predominantly spoken, followed by Creole and Spanish, Garifuna and 3 dialects of Maya. Tourism is its biggest income earner and is expected to grow as Belize has so much to see and do.
